Brother HL1450 printers

These ubiqutous printers have some strange and novel "features" that can make them infuriating. Dr Richard Parker has pulled together the best of the current knowledge on keeping them performing.

The NHS/Microsoft deal 

Microsoft and the NHS have a three year licensing deal.  The agreement is currently only available in England, and applies to all machines connected to NHSnet, or approved for reimbursement by NHS money (e.g. a standalone clinical system, laptops for the clinical system). It does not cover home machines.

You can install from any existing physical copy of the relevant Microsoft products (such as an existing CD of Office). Or to buy just the media at £20 per product contact:-

'XP products require activation so you will need to ring  Microsoft on 0870 606 1517 and quote enterprise no 8491828. They will email you a key.
