Premiere Add-ins

Premiere has a very useful feature known as Add In’s. This is a menu item which allows other programs to be run from within Premiere so that they are easily available.

The software is not supported by Torex and any installation is done at the practice's own risk. Every care is taken to ensure that no problems arise but if they do, Torex may not be able to help with any problems that may arise

There are essentially three type of program that can be used.

1) Standard Windows programs

Any program can be started from the Add In menu e.g. 

• Word loaded with the practice headed note paper.
• CHD risk calculator such as the one by Dr Andrew Summers
• ECG software e.g. Biolog
• On-line web pages, intranet, information resources etc.

2) Software which links in with Premiere in a simple way.

PCTI document management program – This uses the Currently Selected Patient to retrieve scanned documents

3) Software which reads information directly from the Database and may write data back to it. 

A feature of the Add In facility is to allow these programs to automatically log  into the Premiere Database using the user name and password of the person currently logged into Premiere.

NSF Manager from Owdill Software 
This program allows practices to view patient information in a highly configurable way allowing easy access to the data required to meet NSF targets. It provides very powerful search and summary facilities including the ability to edit and print patient records in a customisable format. It also will calculate the Framingham IHD risk score where the information is available.

Problem Wizard  from Apollo Medical Systems Ltd 
This allows easy manipulation of the Premiere Health Events

Summary Wizard from Apollo Medical Systems Ltd. 
allows the user to apply rules to the whole patient database as to how records of a specified Read Code should be marked as 'summary'.

SQL Suite  from Apollo Medical Systems Ltd 
Advanced reporting tool currently in the final stages of development. Cost currently unknown

ApolloScan from Apollo Medical Systems Ltd A complete document management system for scanned, emailed and word processed documents

Easy Monitor – Dr Peter Harris. A popup utility that checks the currently selected patient record for items that have been selected for checking by the user. The program can carry out a number of quite complex searches, such as whether a patient on a statin has had an LFT in the last 12 months. Available as freeware from www.gp-it.co.uk

Easy Audit – Dr Peter Harris. A search facility offering significant improvements on the standard Premiere searches. Available as freeware from www.gp-it.co.uk

PremUtils 
Comprising of  4 mini add-in utilities for Premiere:

• DrugSearch.exe – allows a search for drugs irrespective of case
• Appliancefinder.exe – Search for appliances using the appliance code
• Formulary.exe – Prints out the practice formulary
• Phonefinder.exe – allowing searching on patients phone number or part of
